CBRE recently unveiled a new worldwide service line that would concentrate on integrating EV charging infrastructure into commercial premises. Members of CBRE’s EV division will provide property clients with advice on EV charging strategy, locating sites for charging, developing and installing EV charging infrastructure, and managing and maintaining the program as a whole.
Experts from CBRE’s Global Workplace Solutions and Advisory & Transaction Services companies have joined forces to create the new service line, which provides advice and execution on all EV charging-related topics. Both private and public sectors are betting big on the EV industry, as companies and federal government entities (like the U.S. Postal Service) have laid out plans to replace their fleets with electric vehicles. Plus, consumer demand for electric vehicles has surged within the last few years, with a flurry of new and affordable models set to debut soon. But unless there are ample charging stations available, EVs aren’t all that practical to own. This presents a massive opportunity for properties from offices to multifamily to create supportive infrastructure.
