National technology and commercial real estate conference series DisruptCRE, is hosting its third annual DisruptCRE Boston conference on Thursday, October 13th at Hatch Fenway. Located in the Fenway neighborhood, Hatch Fenway is a launch pad for startup companies — a fitting location for a conference which showcases real estate technology startups.

DisruptCRE provides educational discussions in the form of moderated panels. Topics are expected to range from Internet of Things (IoT ) that are being integrated into our commercial buildings, tenant engagement and concierge services, to newer “Tech Tools” such as virtual reality, and real estate’s secondary market.

“We take the topics that are crucial to the future of this industry, and unpack them in a way that makes it easy to digest,” says Mariel Ebrahimi, DisruptCRE CEO and conference day host.

According to Ebrahimi, the educational portion of the conference day kicks off with a rapid fire segment called “Meet the Disruptors” where companies have 45 seconds to pitch their product or service to attendees.

In addition, the conference will include three panel discussions, anchored by a “State of CRE & Tech: The Executive’s POV,” where some of the most recognizable executives in the industry will shed light on how technology is affecting the industry on a local and global scale. Executive’s will also explore the CRE tech products and services that are currently in the marketplace, what they are investing in or implementing now, and what is coming up on the horizon that gets them excited.

Panel participants include James Whalen, SVP & CIO at Boston Properties; Jordan Nof, Head of Investments at Tusk Ventures; Sara Shank, Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Management, Beacon Capital Partners; Todd Dundon, Principal at Gensler; Melissa Marsh, Founder at PLASTARC & Managing Director at Savills Studley; Solomon Poretsky, Executive Vice President of Organizational Development, among others.

Ebrahimi says the conference will close with a “cocktails and nosh” networking event where attendees can revisit the showcase for demos in a casual atmosphere to engage personally with the tech companies, sponsors, VC’s, and other real estate industry professionals.
