Hines has decided to present a new global investment option to Canadian real estate players. Hines, one of the largest privately held real estate investors and managers on the planet, recently revealed that it would be adding an investment offering to Canada’s wealth management market. Hines’ broker-dealer affiliate, Hines Securities Inc. and global fintech platform iCapital are acting as partners in the operation of the new offering, which presents a whole new world of opportunity to Canadian investors by providing them access to Hines’ $3.8 billion global real estate portfolio.
Canada has long been keen on the United States real estate market (the country remains the largest cross-border investor in U.S. real estate, despite decreasing its investment here in 2022), and now its investors have the opportunity to invest in the Hines’ properties in the U.S., as well seven other countries, including locales in Europe. In addition to an expanded geographic pool, Hines’ vast collection of managed investments will offer Canadian investors exposure to a portfolio that spans a range of income-generating property types, with two-thirds of the asset collection focused on the robust industrial and residential sectors.
